Team gold at European Championships takes British Skeleton’s 2024-25 World Cup medal haul to record total

European Championships team gold for Marcus Wyatt and Amelia Coltman completed a record-breaking IBSF World Cup season for University of Bath-based British Skeleton athletes.
The duo, who had both won silver in their individual events the previous day, pipped Austria’s individual gold-medallists Janine Flock and Samuel Maier to top spot by two hundredths of a second.
The result means the skeleton squad end the 2024-25 World Cup campaign with a record 19 medals, seven of them gold, across eight individual races and four team events. They also celebrated a first-ever one-two in the men’s Overall World Cup standings through Matt Weston and Marcus Wyatt.
They will be hoping for more success when they contest the IBSF World Championships in Lake Placid from 7th to 9th March.
The University of Bath is home to the UK’s only outdoor push-start training track and British Bobsleigh and Skeleton Association athletes also do their strength and conditioning work at the Team Bath Sports Training Village. Click here to find out more.
