Successful UK title defence secures Dan Bethell’s first para badminton medal since returning to full-time training at Team Bath

02 December 2024

Dan Bethell successfully defended his men’s SL3 singles title at the 2024 UK Para Badminton Championships, his first major tournament since moving his full-time training base back to the University of Bath.

Bethell (pictured left), a silver-medallist at both the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, was also runner-up in the SL3/4 doubles with Bobby Griffin, the pair having previously played together during their formative years with Team Bath Futures.

“This was one of the best UK Championships I’ve been a part of in a long time, with so many new and exciting players coming through in so many categories,” said Bethell, who trains with the Team Bath badminton performance squad coached by Peter Bush. “The future of para-badminton in Britain is certainly looking very bright.”
